2006 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship

The firm provides a $3,000 annual scholarship to a Lebanon County High School Senior planning to attend a four-year, accredited college. The winner of the 2006 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship is Kelsey J. McMillen. Miss McMillen is the daughter of Karen McMillen Dielmann and is a graduating senior at Cedar Crest High School. She was president of the drama club; founder and vice president of the Young Democrats Club; editor of the arts and entertainment section of the school newspaper, The Talon; and a member of chorus, concert choir and French club. Among her honors are National Honor Society, National Association of High School Scholars and Outstanding Student of America, National Student Leadership Conference and several writing awards. She is employed at Staples at Cedar Crest Square. Miss McMillen plans to attend Bryn Mawr College to major in philosophy. The $3,000 Buzgon Davis Scholarship is given to a graduating senior from one of the seven district schools. The selection criterion includes (a) class rank (the student must be in the top 20% of the class, (b) essay-writing and (3) personal interview. Each school submits its top essay to the Buzgon Davis scholarship committee who then rates the essays as well as the personal interview with each candidate.

The topic for this year was: Does the teaching of intelligent design in schools violate the constitutional separation of church and state?

Miss McMillen was presented with the first installment of her scholarship at a luncheon held at the Lebanon Country Club.
