2007 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship

Mr. Kunder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kunder, is a 2007 graduate of Eastern Lebanon County High School. His previous awards include Rotary Student of the Month and Phys Ed Student of the Month.  He is the recipient of the VFW Certificate of Outstanding Achievement, the Scholastic Athlete Award, and the Scholastic Art Award for digital imagery and computer art. Mr. Kunder was a member of the Chorus and the Senior Class Council.  Other activities included ELCO News Network, Daybreak Morning Show, the Envirothon Club, golf, wrestling, tennis, and playing the lead in the school musical, MAME. His plan is to attend Penn State University. The $3,000.00 Buzgon Davis Scholarship is given to a graduating senior from one of the seven district schools. The selection criterion includes:

  1. Class rank (student must be in top 20% of class)
  2. Essay-writing
  3. Personal interview

 

Each school submits its top essay to the Buzgon Davis scholarship committee who then rates the essays as well as the personal interview with each candidate. The topic for the 2007 Buzgon Davis Law Offices Scholarship was:

STATE YOUR PHILOSOPHY WITH REGARD TO THE MANNER IN WHICH YOU WOULD HANDLE THE CURRENT ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION PROBLEM CONFRONTING THE UNITED STATES.

Mr. Kunder, accompanied by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kunder, was presented with the first installment of his scholarship at a luncheon held at the Lebanon Country Club on May 24, 2007.
